2021 Spring/Summer Event Design Intern

Since launching in October 2013, we have had the pleasure of designing and planning over 245 events in 16 different states. Throughout the last seven years, Event Design Interns have been instrumental in various aspects of those events. We are considered the Midwest’s premiere event design + public relations + production company that specializes in corporate, non-profit and social events. Role Overview:

This dream builder in-training will be working with The Event Company and clients to design and plan corporate, non-profit and social events. Many of these events will take place in the Sioux Falls metro area; however, some will be located in surrounding states. Student must be willing to work occasional nights, weekends and has the ability to travel with the team outside of the Sioux Falls metro area for events.

Duties May Include, But Not Limited To:

  • Coordination of event logistics, timelines, and schedules
  • Assisting the team of Events Designers with crafting the virtual + hybrid event experience for clients
  • Conduct market research and stay abreast of industry trends, especially as it pertains to virtual + hybrid events
  • Vendor relations
  • Meeting event objectives within assigned budget
  • Assisting with day-of-event design + set-up + tear-down, this includes assisting with virtual + hybrid events
  • Working with the team to develop a media communications plan for public events
  • Perform post-event analysis of and develop recommendations for future
  • Increasing public awareness of The Event Company and each of the events that are managed by the company
  • Prompt communication with all current and prospective clients as well as event partners, vendors, and team members

Experience Required:

  • Self-starter with experience in executing successful events
  • Desire to be a part of virtual + hybrid events with guests being located throughout the world
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage various projects at once
  • Innovative + creative
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal + written communications
  • Social media expertise
  • Strong proficiency in G Suite + MS Office + DropBox
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver’s license
  • Willingness to travel


This is a non-paid internship; however, a semester-end bonus is available for the successful completion of assigned internship. Candidate will also be eligible for college credit.
