A farewell gala to honor President James W. Abbott’s twenty-one years of service to the University of South Dakota, Legacy, was a social worth celebrating! The red-tie event was hosted at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion, South Dakota. The facility was transformed into a gorgeous gala for not only some of President Abbott’s family and friends, but also those lives that he played a pivotal role in during his tenure at the University of South Dakota.
The celebration’s main feature was a 60-foot video wall that showcased interviews with a few of those students, family and friends that were impacted by President Abbott. Accompanying this grand piece was a photo booth displaying the names of each student that graduated from the university during President Abbott’s time on campus, an area for guests to write personal farewell messages to the honoree and a custom-created menu filled with butlered hors d’oeuvres, desserts and a signature drink.
