We are seeking a dynamic + motivated Venue Sales + Events Manager to join our award-winning, internationally recognized team! In this role, you will cultivate client relationships, drive venue rental sales + oversee the seamless coordination of events at a premier Sioux Falls venue managed by The Event Company. The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder with strong organizational skills + a proven ability to generate revenue while delivering exceptional event experiences.

Duties for the VENUE SALES + EVENTS MANAGER may include, but not limited to:

  • Venue Sales + Revenue Generation


  • Develop + manage rental sales strategies to maximize venue utilization + profitability.
  • Proactively generate leads, manage inquiries, conduct site visits + close rental agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal + external partners to establish revenue-sharing opportunities (venue rental, audio/visual services, catering, service fees + change orders.)
  • Track + report on sales performance, forecasting + pipeline management.
  • Conceptualize + produce new annual signature events hosted at the venue.



experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, marketing +/or communications.
  • 3+ years of experience in event sales, venue management or hospitality coordination.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in project management applications like Asana, Trello + Basecamp.
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal + written communications.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced + dynamic start-up environment.
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations + troubleshoot difficult situations.
  • Self-starter with proven experience to prioritize + execute successful + memorable events
  • Innovative + creative with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency in G Suite + MS Office + DropBox.
  • Ability to lift +/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends + event-based schedules, as needed.
  • Must possess + maintain a valid motor vehicle driver’s license + automobile insurance.

This is a full-time in-office position headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Competitive salary + commission as well as benefits that include health insurance + paid time off (PTO) + 401(K) + other exciting offerings!


  • Event Coordination + Client Experience


  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients from initial inquiry through event execution.
  • Partner with event vendors + internal teams at the venue to deliver exceptional event experiences.
  • Manage proposals, contracts + billing processes with accuracy + attention to detail.
  • Provide on-site support during select events, ensuring client satisfaction + resolving issues as they arise.



  • Venue + Partner Management


  • Build + maintain strong relationships with internal + external event vendors including catering, A/V + others.
  • Oversee compliance with venue policies, safety regulations + client requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal leadership on strategies to improve venue operations, efficiency + profitability.
  • Identify + implement opportunities for growth, including new service offerings + enhanced client packages.
